My friend lived away from her parets for almost five years now. Meetings with them are brief, once or atthe most, twice an year.
Phonecalls, just to prompt them to fill in her bank account at regular intervals.
Though she's a lone child, the parent-child relation somehow seems to be strained or rather tangled.
She said she never ever felt 'attached' as such with them. Even during vacations,they never go out on outingsand all... "strange", I mused.
Her life in here too, isn't much different. She has many friends...But- nominal. And a guy in whose love she's totally mad!
But some kind of weird feeling comes to me when I learnt that she's not having a specific group to freak out with, etc. And I don't really know what to make of her psych?!
She sometimes says it is useless to make a bosom friend , tell all the freaking truth; confess and all... because even that individual is destined to leave!
It is like waiting for all the city's traffic signals to go green to pull the car out of the garage...
Seeing someone so colourless within, the grey hues around me seem prominent at times.
But to look into the matter deeply, I feel there are many more layers to this than I percieve. Somewhere deep down in the stages of infancy and childhood...
no doubt there are people like the one you are talking about. but its not their fault. psychology of a person depends on or is governed by the environment in which he/she grows. what he/she see's listens influence that person. naturally each one of us has a different attitude. no doubt that many people have similar attitudes due to a similar environment. its just at what level you are looking at will give you the specific idea.if you want her to be more like everyone else then she can be that person if she realizes it., because people don't learn from others mistake its when they feel it they change definitely.i know you can bring the change in her and make her more lively & make the world a better place to live in for her . :D (and tell her no one is destined to leave unless you are willing to)
